Amal Yemen is more than just a virtual event. It is a movement that looks to introduce the world to the beauty, diversity and heritage of Yemen. Part of the Amal Yemen Event is to showcase some of the best work that Yemen has to offer. We hope to shine a light on these talented individuals and introduce an international audience to Yemen’s art, culture, cuisine, music and more.

Ahmed Ghalib Omar

A mechatronics engineering student and social media content creator for everything related to cafes and coffee. He began his journey, and discovered his passion for coffee in 2012 and has continued to develop his knowledge in the coffee industry ever since.

When asked about what Yemeni Coffee means to him, he said “Yemen is the origin of all cultivated coffees, just as it was the origin of all Arabs. Arabs originated from the Qahtan tribe of Yemen, similarly most coffee strains belong to the Typica-Bourbon group which traces its lineage to Yemen.”

Faris Salah

Faris Salah Ba’adhim was born in Sana’a, Yemen but was raised in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he studied Biomedical engineering. In 2018, he discovered and fell in love with the coffee community and all that surrounds it. He began a career as a barista, and worked his way up to branch manager. Faris then entered the world of green coffee and coffee roasting, where he now continues to pursue his career, in the quality assurance and development department.

The first competition Faris participated in was the “2019 AeroPress Championship - KSA”. He won first place and went on to represent KSA in the world finals in London.

“I always strive to learn, develop myself, and gain knowledge that is useful and enriching in all fields, and in the coffee industry in particular”

Ahmed Saeed

Ahmed Saeed is a development addict, consultant trainer, and certified SCA sensory cupper. He is also the founder of Barista Cafes.
